Big Bass Bash

The days started off with almost a total of 800 entries just showing how well the tournament is being ran and how well everyone is enjoying fishing them. We need to thank Midwest Fish Tournaments for the very well ran tournaments. The majority of the fish being weighed was in the mid 4lb range in to the upper 5lb range that seemed to be the average. With the exception of a few that were brought in and the following top 3 bass overall will tell you. The majority of the fish seemed to be caught on jigs and 10inch worms with the exception of a few on DD22's and spinnerbaits. The word at the weigh though the fishing was tough and the fish are scattered as their in the transition for the fall. The top 3 overall winners of the tournament are as follows.

1st Place Richard Gaik, with his 6.26lb fish weighed in 9:00am on Saturday. He was fishing the Osage River near the 45mm his fish came on a 3/8 Brown and Green jig. This is a new jig that they are putting on the market and you can find them at www.knuckledownlures.com. They were on just a ordinary chunk rock bank about halfway back in the cove fishing 4-6ft of water when Richard caught the fish.Congratulations Richard that fish was good for $30,000.

2nd Place Cliff Carnahan with his 6.08lb fish. He weighed his fish in on Saturday at the 3:00pm weigh in. I was unable to contact Cliff to find out how he caught his fish but I will get the details once I contact him. His fish was worth $15,000

3rd Place Rich Politt  with his 5.87lb fish. He also weighed his fish in at 3:00pm on Saturday. So they all had to wait a full day to find out if all their weights held up or not. As for the details how he caught his fish I could not reach him due to the heavy crowds at weigh in and could not be found. I'm working to get a hold of these two anglers two find out their information and details how they caught their fish. His fish was worth $10,000.

As for the wrap up of the tournament it was very well ran and was a fun and very exciting event as everyone was listining to the covering radio station 93.5fm to see if they had to hurry to get their fish in to possibly win a hourly weigh in. For any photos and extended information on all the weigh ins refer to the following website for more details www.midwestfishtournaments.com
