As of Tuesday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports the lake’s elevation at 653.73 feet MSL (Normal conservation pool - 654 MSL).
The warmer-than-normal February weather has bass and walleye biting in 10 to 20 feet of water on Alabama-rigged swim baits, grubs and crankbaits. Bucktail jigs are catching bass in 10 to 20 feet of water along bluff banks in creek arms. Suspending stick baits are another option for bass in the creek arms. There is an early morning jigging spoon bite for spotted bass half way back in the creek arms about 50 feet deep.
